Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of parenting patterns on the formation of early childhood independence, especially Group A students at Miftahul Ulum Kindergarten, Jember Regency. Independence is a crucial aspect in child development that needs to be built from an early age so that children can carry out daily activities independently according to their developmental stages and have a sense of responsibility. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the study indicate that parenting styles have a major impact on the development of children's independence, with democratic parenting as the most effective pattern in supporting the formation of an independent attitude through active communication, emotional support, and providing space for children to participate in decision making. The process of internalization or instilling the value of independence takes place through three main stages, namely value transformation, value transactions, and transinternalization, with the role of parents as role models being very important in shaping children's independence character. This study emphasizes the importance of the active role of parents in supporting the growth and development of children's independence from an early age.
