ISLAM DI YAMAN: KEKUASAAN HOUTHI DAN DINAMIKA RESPON MASYARAKAT

This study describes the Yemen conflict, which has triggered severe economic instability that directly affects the Yemeni population, making it one of the most serious humanitarian crises of the modern era and a major challenge to political stability in the Middle East. The emergence of the Houthi movement as an armed actor that succeeded in seizing governmental control has intensified tensions previously fueled by weak governance, social inequality, and the geopolitical rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Employing a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, this research is based on a literature review and document analysis of indexed journals, international institutional reports, and official publications. The findings indicate that the protracted nature of the conflict is driven by struggles for political legitimacy, regional competition, and the weakness of international diplomacy, while the worsening humanitarian situation underscores the need for an approach grounded not only in political negotiation but also in the values of justice, peace, and humanitarian protection.
