This study aims to analyze the implementation strategies of the Qur’an memorization
(tahfidz) program in accelerating the quality of memorization recitation and verse
comprehension among students at Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Ulum 1 Putri. The
research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected
through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving
pesantren leaders, tahfidz coordinators, instructors, and students. Data analysis was
conducted using cross-case analysis, while data validity was ensured through source and
technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the management functions of the
tahfidz program planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation play a significant
role in improving the quality of students’ recitation and memorization. Well-structured
planning, systematic implementation, consistent supervision, and regular evaluation
through tasmi’ effectively enhance accuracy in makhraj, tajwid, and memorization fluency.
In addition, memorization methods such as talaqqi, musyafahah, bi al-tahqiq, tikrar, and

muraja’ah significantly contribute to strengthening memorization and verse
comprehension. Although instructors apply different approaches, all methods emphasize
the priority of recitation quality before increasing memorization quantity. Therefore, this
study highlights the importance of comprehensive program management and appropriate
memorization methods in achieving successful tahfidz programs in Islamic boarding
schools.
