EVENT COSPLAY SEBAGAI WAHANA EKSPRESI DAN PARIWISATA DI KOTA PONTIANAK

Abstract

Abstrak:

Perkembangan budaya Jepang di Indonesia sangat beragam seperti masuknya musik, anime, manga atau komik, fast food, fashion, game hingga cosplay. Budaya populer ini menyebar ke beberapa masyarakat Indonesia. Budaya cosplay telah menjadi salah satu fenomena yang menghebohkan dalam dunia hiburan dan seni pertunjukan. Kota Pontianak, khususnya cosplay berkembang sangat pesat dan selalu diadakan setiap bulan melalui berbagai acara yang dikenal dengan nama “Event Cosplay”. Event cosplay yang diadakan di Kota Pontianak menjadi momen penting bagi para cosplayer lokal untuk berkumpul, mengekspresikan kreativitas diri, dan berbagi kecintaan mereka terhadap karakter fiksi yang mereka gemari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan ekspresi event cosplay sebagai panggung eksistensi wisata di Kota Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Cosplay merupakan suatu kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh para penggemar manga dan anime, dimana mereka membuat, memakai kostum untuk meniru dan mewakili karakter tertentu dari anime, manga, game, atau film.  Para anggota komunitas Cosplay di Kota Pontianak mengadakan event cosplay di tempat-tempat pusat keramaian diantaranya pusat perbelanjaan (mall), ruang publik (taman kota, kampus, sekolah), festival kebudayaan daerah, ruang terbuka hijau, maupun tempat bersejarah di Kota Pontianak untuk menambah daya tarik wisata. Selain itu melakukan kerja sama dengan semua pihak yang terlibat seperti pemerintah dan sponsorship untuk mendapatkan perizinan, keamanan, promosi finansial dan logistik serta mengajak para UMKM lokal untuk menjual makanan minuman dan kerajinan lainnya kepada wisatawan. 

 

Abstract:

The development of Japanese culture in Indonesia is very diverse such as the entry of music, anime, manga or comics, fast food, fashion, games and cosplay. This popular culture is spreading to several Indonesian communities. Cosplay culture has become one of the horrendous phenomena in the world of entertainment and performing arts. In Pontianak City, cosplay in particular is growing very rapidly and is always held every moth through events known as “Event Cosplay”. Cosplay events held in Pontianak City become an important moment for local cosplayers to gather, express their creativity and share their love for the fictional characters they love. The purpose of this research is to describe the expression of cosplay event as a stage for tourism existence in Pontianak City. This research uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach which is a research process and understanding based on methods that investigate social phenomena and human problems. Data collection was carried out by observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Cosplay is an activity carried out by manga and anime fans, where they make, wear costumes to imitate and represent certain characters from anime, manga, games or film. The members of the Cosplay community held cosplay events in crowded places including shopping centres (malls), public spaces (city parks, campuses and schools), regional cultural festivals, green open spaces and historical places in Pontianak City to increase tourist attractiveness. Collaborate with all parties involved such as the government and sponsor to obtain permits, security, financial promotions and logistics and invite local MSMEs to sell food and drinks and other crafts to tourist.
